7.2 Search and Filter Study List

Duration • 2 Minutes

Clinical characteristics of the patient should be used to inform the study search and patient matching process.

Patient Matching

Match a patient to a study or investigational product:

A patient can be matched to a study, or investigational product listed as part of a study, using the filter and search criteria within the study registry.

Study search and filter:

  1. Use the filter criteria on the left-hand side of the studies page to specify details of a study, refining the search.
  2. Alternatively, a user can use the search bar at the top of the page to search for keywords, or for the title of the study if it is known.

When locating a particular study in the registry, the search bar can return results from a range of key terms, including:

  • Protocol short title
  • Protocol Identification Number (for example, NCT number)
  • Population Disease Condition (for example, ‘glioblastoma’)
  • Intervention/Treatment (for example, ‘Pembrolizumab’)
  • Sponsor Name

Filter criteria include:

  • Clinical trial type;
  • Clinical trial phase;
  • Clinical trial status;
  • Compassionate use type;
  • Compassionate use status;
  • Eligibility criteria (inclusion and exclusion);
  • Age group; and,
  • Location (search by city or country)

The Search function also allows the user to search any keywords used in the study, including any clinical characteristics for inclusion/exclusion e.g. genomic variant, indication, etc.

To help you find specific studies , think about the information that is most important to you.

  • Do you want to find clinical studies focused on a certain disease?
    • Use the Condition or disease filter. Type in the name of the disease or condition and select from the drop-down list.
  • Are you looking for studies located close to home or other location?
    • Use the Location filter and search by city or country.
  • Do you want to know about studies that use a specific treatment?
    • Use the Intervention/Treatment filter and type in the name of the treatment.
  • Are you interested in enrolling a patient in a clinical study?
    • Change the Study Status filter to Recruiting and not yet recruiting studies. Those are the studies looking for participants.

Clinical characteristics of the patient should be used to inform the study search and patient matching process.
